Background: Refractory model must be as same as the master model, to produce an accurate metal frame denture. Purpose: The aim of this study was to expect the dental technician to understand how to properly manufacture of refractory models, so they won’t waste time and money in vain.
Review: In manufacturing of refractory models there are several things to be note : before the duplication, master models must be soaked in water, in the heating time reversible hydrocolloid material should be stirred to be homogeneous, and after reaching the specified temperature immediately poured into the duplicating flask, and then put the duplicating flask immersed in flowing water. If the reversible hydrocolloid mold has been cooler immediately removed from the master model and filled the mould with investment material.
Conclusion: Ways of making refractory model need to be understood, in order to produce accurate metal frame denture.
